In collaboration with Kathy Reller’s Salon at 31 Harrison Street, Dancing Krow Studio and Third Friday Gallery are presenting:

Fat Friday for Haiti
February 19th, 6-10 p.m.

In keeping with the American tradition of moving every holiday to create a 3-day weekend, we are moving Fat Tuesday to Friday, February 19th.  In our gallery, we will have for your enjoyment and for the benefit of Haiti, a group show featuring the work of artists, to name a few:

Along with the exhibit, we will be holding a raffle of artwork, crafts, etc., including an elegant gemstone necklace, created by our own Kathy Reller and a large piece of art by Karen Schuman, The Melting Pot.  Individually raffle tickets will be for sale at $5.

For the pleasure of your ears, a drum circle will be led by Cindy Simone.  Guests are welcome to bring their drums, rattles, bells, etc., and join in our circle with our intention of sending wishes of healing, recovery, and peace to our Haitian neighbors across the sea.  Enjoy our buffet of island-inspired food and drinks while you visit.

We will be collecting donations at this time for a Haitian relief charity of which we are still researching at this time.  We have several fine organizations pre-selected that will continue to help re-build Haiti long after the Red Cross has vacated.  We suggest that our guests make a $20 donation to this charity or please donate to the best of your ability.  Please bring a checkbook; all donations will be made out directly to the final charity we select. With a donation of $20, you will receive a bonus raffle ticket.  A donation is not required to purchase raffle tickets or to attend the event.

In addition to the other fun things listed above, Lee Simmons will be offering the experience of the thrill of a “reading.”  Not just any reading…..a Chakra Reading.  By focusing on certain chakras in your body, Lee can clear any areas that create concern in your life.  Let’s clear any obstacles that might be bothering or preventing you from accessing your greatest desires.  $10 gets you a 5-minute reading, clearing one chakra and divining the color.  $15 gets you a 10-minute reading, clearing more chakras, and discussing the area in more detail.  Readings take place at 6-6:45 p.m. and 7-7:45 p.m.  50% of the proceeds will go to our Haitian relief charity.

Sarah Lane will be on-site with her massage chair to give your aching shoulders some relief.  $1 per minute of massage + tips will go into our relief fund.
