Sustainability a Focus at What’s Blooming

This year’s theme is “It’s Easy being Green.”  Learn how through arts, music, speakers and exhibitors in the Oak Park Arts District.

What’s Blooming on Harrison

Friday, May 15 - 6-10 PM

Saturday, May 16 - 12-8 PM

We have a great line up of eco-activities on Harrison. 

  • Discover the 15 decorated Rain Barrels on Parade in the Arts District to learn more about water conservation
  • Visit one of our 20+ Eco-Exhibitors to explore how to live more sustainably through your fashion choices, eating habits, and home and gardening activities.
  • Listen to experts during our Eco Speaker Series to learn more about such topics as “5 Tips to Remodel Green & Save Money,” “How to Shop by Bike,” and “Water - from Trouble to Treasure.”
  • Eat more sustainably by choosing organic, locally grown food at Buzz Cafe or Trattoria 225.
  • Browse our many studios, galleries and shops who offer treasures made from recycled materials.  See Art Gecko’s “Junk Drawer” jewelry,  hats made from old sweaters at Pamela Penney Textile Arts, Haitian folk art made from recycled cement bags at Ridge Art, cuff links made from old typewriter keys at CarefulPeach Boutique, and jewelry made from discarded acupuncture guide tubes at Ginkgo Acupuncture.
