Live Entertainment at Art on Harrison

Submitted by libbey_paul on Tuesday, 4 August 2009

On Saturday from 12-8 PM, we have a great line up of entertainment on our main stage on Harrison just west of Lombard.  The street will be closed off so you can enjoy the festivities.  We also have live entertainment on the east and west ends.  Listen to live music and see Samantha Brenneman and Belly Dancers at the east end of the street (Studio Light, 27G Harrison), and listen to more from the Harrison Street Ukulele Players on the west end (Wonderwall Music Shoppe & Emporium, 329B Harrison).

Mainstage Schedule:

  • 12-1 PM - Patti Ecker & Louise Brodie - Enjoy this Chicago-based guitar/vocal/fiddle duo who deliver acoustic folk, swing, Celtic and original songs with an entertaining and funky jazz-blues style.
  • 1-2 PM - Harrison Street Ukulele Players - Hum along with the Arts District’s own GiGi Wong-Monaco (Wonderwall Music Shoppe & Emporium, 329B Harrison) and Oak Park’s favorite ukulele group!
  • 2-3 PM - Family Sing-Along - Join Amy Pappageorge (Musikgarten, 344 Harrison), Beth Sagal and the Oak Park River Forest Children’s Chorus for a rousing family sing-along.
  • 3-4 PM - Ping - Have good fun listening to an upbeat blend of rock and roll, with a storytelling perspective that embraces the challenges of real life.
  • 4-5 PM - Family Street Dance - Dance with Diane VanDerhei (INTUIT Dance, 237 Harrison) as she energizes young and old alike.
  • 5-6 PM - Groovy Sparrow - Somewhere in the middle of rock and folk, the melodies and harmonies of Groovy Sparrow are music for the soul.
  • 6-7 PM - Ring Shout - A wide variety of music with an Afro-Latin groove that will get you dancing: Folk, Reggae, traditional Jazz and their own aspiring compositions.
  • 7-8 PM - The Rev. and the Righteous - Enjoy the original songs of this rockabilly/blues trio.

A big thank you to our sound engineer, Lou Carlozo of Carma Productions Worldwide, for his generous support to make this a great event.
