Magical Minds Studio (343 HARRISON) - We will be hosting Parents Night Out Friday and Saturday Nights from 6 to 9 PM. Bring in one food item and receive $5 off a per child fee of $25. Friday from 12 to 5 PM, during open studio time bring in a food item and receive $5 off the $15 Open Studio fee.
Calypso Moon Studio (331B HARRISON) - Join us for the a Holiday Card Workshop on Saturday, 11/21, from 4-7 PM. Drop in on this family-friendly, creative workshop. Collage materials and cards will be provided. Note that Calypso also has “gifts in the gallery” that will be $50 and under. Enjoy the work of studio partners, Sallie Wolf and Jennifer Tiner, and see jewelry from visiting artists, Sue Clarke and Jean Clarke.
Wonderwall Music Shoppe & Emporium (329B HARRISON) - Bring in 2 NON-PERISHABLE CANNED GOODS, we’ll give 10% discount! For each purchase of a colored Makala Ukulele, we’ll donate $5 to the Food Pantry! Ukulele demonstrations all weekend long!
Whispers from the Moon (235 HARRISON) - The theme for this pre-holiday session is “Catch a Gratitude Buzz,” experience it on Saturday from 5-6 PM (cost $22 - space is limited and pre-registration is required). bodyBuzz is a vibrational art sound healing experience with Marie and Antonio Soriano. Also on Saturday, “Treasures from the Earth” jewelry sale with one-of-a-kind semi-precious gemstones. Purchase a Gratitude Crane and receive an additional 10% off your jewelry purchase. Shopping time is from 4 to 5 PM … and then again after the bodyBuzz from 6 to 8 PM.
Trattoria 225 (225 HARRISON) - Donate two non-perishable food items for the OPRF Food Pantry and receive a coupon good for a free glass of wine with the purchase of your meal.
Briejo (211 HARRISON) - Donate two non-perishable food items for the OPRF Food Pantry and receive a coupon good for a free special holiday dessert with the purchase of a meal. One coupon per table. Offer good between 11/20-12/18.
Prodigy Glassworks (207 HARRISON) - Give the gift of glass this holiday season. Join us for our Holiday Open House on Friday from 6-9 PM and Saturday from 10-7 PM, and take 10% off everything in the store (excluding classes and workshops) During our Open House, make your own fused holiday ornaments for $15, and we’ll donate a portion of the proceeds to Sarah’s Inn.
Buzz Café (905 S. LOMBARD) - Enjoy Burgers, Beers and Bands on both Friday and Saturday night from 5-9 PM. On Friday from 6-8:30 PM, listen to Rob Neumeyer play hits from 60’s to the present on his acoustic guitar, and on Saturday enjoy the acoustic music of The Rev from 6:30-8:30 PM. On Saturday morning, the Farmer’s Market Band is back from 8-11 AM! Between 11/20-12/18, donate two non-perishable food items for the OPRF Food Pantry and receive a coupon good for a free cup of coffee.
Gallery Pink (149 HARRISON) - Choose a gift of art by selecting from the works of a group of very talented artisans: pottery, jewelry, photography, sculptures, prints, paintings and more. There is nothing like a gift of art/handmade work to warm the heart! The show opens this weekend and runs through the end of December. Hours: Fri 5-10 PM, Sat 1-8 PM, Sun 1-5 PM.
Ginkgo Acupuncture (147 HARRISON) - For the month of November, Ginkgo Acupuncture would like to show gratitude to our community (and help keep it healthy) by offering a special “Infection Protection” acupuncture treatment for $50. In addition, anyone who buys a crane ornament will receive 10% off of a tonic herb purchase. Open on Friday from 12-7 PM, and on Saturday from 3:30-6:30 PM.
Bead in Hand (145 HARRISON) - “Reinvent Your Jewelry” at a workshop on Friday from 6-8 PM. Normally $10 per person, this night only the workshop will be 2 persons for $10. Bring a friend and save! On Saturday, from 5-8 PM, we have a special workshop planned - “Make Your Own Picture Pendants” for $5 each. String it on a cord and add some beads, and you’ve made yourself a special piece of jewelry - or a great gift! Bring your own very small picture (approx. 1/2″ wide x 1/2- 3/4″ tall), or we’ll have pictures and patterns you can use.
Creative Changes (140 HARRISON) - Stop by on November 20 (5-9 PM) & 21 (12-6 PM) for a glass of wine and to browse affordable creations made by our Process Painting Community. Drop off two items for the food pantry drive and receive a coupon for $10 off a class or 10% off your holiday purchase. We will have a display of cranes created by local children and Arts District artists that you can purchase in support of our local schools. Holiday hours: Wed-Fri 1-7 PM and Sat 10 AM-2 PM.
Pamela Penney Textile Arts (130 HARRISON) - Stop in Saturday Nov. 21st. between 1-4 PM to create a silk-screened felt snowflake ornament. All ages welcome! $5 per ornament. To show our gratitude to our customers we are offering 20% off any one item or 10% off your total purchase (just a couple of exclusions apply) during the month of November if you bring in any canned or boxed food item to be donated to the OPRF Food Pantry! While you’re in, bid on the “Crazy Community Crocheted Blanket,” which is being auctioned off to benefit Sarah’s Inn.
Eastgate Café (102 HARRISON) - Back by popular demand, jewelry designer Sofija Zeljic will be showcasing her striking pieces made from hammered copper, sterling and gold. The show is open on Friday, 6-9:30 PM, and Saturday, 2:30-8:30 PM. Enjoy our steak sandwich special, and listen to Erick on guitar Saturday, 6:30-9:30 PM.
Expressions Graphics (29 HARRISON) - Join us for the much-anticipated annual members’ print show in the gallery. Attend a demonstration on how to print antique etched plates on Friday night Nov. 20, 7PM. Open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Ridge Art (21 HARRISON) - Listen to local author and artist Stephanie Rose Bird on Friday, November 20, from 6-10 PM. This event will be a book signing party for Ms. Bird’s third book, A Healing Grove: African Tree Remedies and Rituals for the Body and Spirit. She is a practicing herbalist, a professional artist and illustrator and lives in Oak Park, Illinois. The gallery will be selling Ms. Bird’s illustrations for the book.
Art Gecko (19 HARRISON) - In the spirit of the Gift of Gratitude, bring in a non-perishable food item as a donation to the OPRF Food Pantry and take 15% off any one item purchased. Offer good throughout the month of November.
Harrison Works (17 HARRISON) - Browse our new “Driven to Create,” an eclectic array of works from 8 artists, plus new works from gallery owner Elizabeth Gaylord. The artists include Mary Alheim, Judith Ann Deszcz, Helen Faron, Pam Gallagher, RX Gallagher, Pam Skubal, Kris Stalzer, and Pat Williams. Join us for an opening artists’ reception Friday from 6-10 PM. The show runs to January 10th.
